The Adult Parole Board’s Detention and Supervision Order (DSO) Division function transitioned to the new Post Sentence Authority on 27 February 2018.
From 27 February 2018, the Post Sentence Authority is responsible for the monitoring of serious sex offenders on post sentence orders and oversight of the post sentence scheme.
The Board has no jurisdiction with respect to post sentence orders.
Post sentence orders are entirely different to parole.
In certain circumstances, a court can order an offender who has completed their sentence to be subject to a post-sentence supervision or detention order.
